Sound Work

This sound work reflects on the rhythms of manual labour within the crafts and voice of the workers involved.

During the performance which would happen once a day you would see a person sit on the floor and unravel the yarn, while a 12 min recording of them humming is played.

The performer would enter a dialogue between their body, its gestures and the mechanics of their voice by synchronising themselves to the recording whilst actively humming.

Througout the time of the exhibition you can see the material unravelling itself more and more until it becomes unrecognisable.
